Community development is a process - a process through which staff, residents, businesses, and organizations work together to improve the quality of life in the Princeton area.  Staff facilitates new development and redevelopment of property while enforcing codes and regulations. The goal is to create opportunity and yet protect the environment, historic structures, and small town nature of the City of Princeton.

The Community Development Department provides staffing for the Planning Commission and Economic Development Authority.  In addition, Community Development participates with numerous committees and organizations within the community and regionally, including the Princeton Area Visionary Committee, the 4R Board, the Mille Lacs County Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee, the Mille Lacs County Broadband Committee, GPS 45:93, and the Greater MN Regional Parks and Trails Coalition

The Community Development Department is located in City Hall at 705 2nd Street North.  Call 763-389-2040 with any questions, comments, or ideas relating to Community Development.
